Building the "New Facebook"

When we first started building Favs I was telling people we're building the next Facebook. When I gave the one liner to someone I met out one night she replied "Oh, so a social network in the metaverse where everything is made with AI?"

I laughed then proceeded to tell her more of what it was: friends updates only, no algorithms, no doomscrolling, and deliberate actions made to take you off the app into IRL experience and vice versa.

She laughed and said "Oh, so you're building the old Facebook!"

That's when our pitch changed.

We're not building the new social media.
New isn't always better.
Just because you can build something doesn't mean you should.
